Abstract

Results Conjugated dienes are available via three different dehalogenation pathways as shown in Figure l. The 1, 2-, 1, 4-, and 1, 2, 3, 4-elimination reactions have all been used for the preparation of 1, 3-dienes. ls Common dehalogenating agents include metals (Zn, Mg, Al), organometallic reagents (MeMgBr), as well as iodide ion. l8 However, as compared with other methods for diene synthesis, the dehalogenation reaction has received relatively ...
