Abstract
It has been established, using nmr spectroscopy, that the formation of cis-and tvens- propenyllithium by the transmetalation reaction occurs with retention of the geometric configuration of the propenyl group in the organotin precursor used. The reactions of these lithium reagents with trimethylchlorosilane, carbon dioxide, and benzaldehyde also are stereospecific. Further examples are described which show that the transmetalation ...
