Abstract

Abstract A new strategy for the synthesis of 6-hydroxyalkyl-and 6-hydroxyaralkyl-6H-dibenz [c, e][1, 2] oxaphosphorin 6-oxides 3 was achieved by the reaction of 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl) phenylphosphonic acid (1) with various carbonyl compounds 2. The desired products 3 were obtained in acceptable yields.
