Abstract

" Distillates completely crystalline unless otherwise noted.* AlCla suspension in CHClZCHClz was saturated with anhyd. HC1 before adding the CHe= C (CN) z-benzene solution. If this preliminary treatment was omitted the yield of distilled product was 14.7%. Colorless viscous liquid bp 101-104"(0.08 mm.), WZ5D 1.5312, dZ54 1.032.'Liquid did not give satisfactory analysis for C, H and N. Purified acid had mp 163.5'dec. See Table 11. ...
