Abstract

Summary If the explosion condition is formulated on the basis of the thermal theory it is not possible to find any plausible specific reaction mechanism that describes the effect of pressure and mixture composition on the upper critical NO2 concentration. This includes the mechanism proposed by Foord and Norrish.
