Abstract

Summary The C-0-C grouping in aldehyde-acid combinations is an acylal function. Fourteen new acylals were synthesized having the general, wherein R represents formula: RCH methyl, ethyl, propyl, or butyl radicals. These were prepared by reaction of a sodium salt with a 1-alkoxyalkyl chloride.
