Abstract

Synthesized in the course of broad scale studies in the search for quinazoline series~- adrenergic blockers [i, 9], Prazosin exhibits selective action on the postsynaptic~ 1- adrenergic receptors which accounts for its high level of gradually increasing and prolonged antihypertensive activity which is not attenuated upon repeated administration and which is not accompanied by reflex tachycardia.
