Abstract
The oxidation of unsaturated fatty materials with peracetic acid in acetic acid solution has been studied by numerous investigator^.^^^,^,^,^ The oxidation products were usually mixtures of hydroxy-acetoxy compounds, which on saponification gave good yields of glycols.
