Abstract
The identity of fluoride-containing products was established by 19F NMR spectroscopy (Figure 2). The glyoxalase I only reaction gave a sharp singlet for fluoride ion as expected. The glyoxalase I and I1 reaction afforded, in addition to the fluoride ion singlet, a proton- coupled sextet (J~ H, F= 47, JH, F= 30 Hz) identical with authentic fluorolactate.
