Abstract

The dimethyl and diethyl acetals of 4chlorobutyraldehyde and Cbromobutyraldehyde (1, l- dimethoxy-and 1, l-diethoxy-4-chlorobutane and 1, l-dimethoxy-and 1, l-diethoxy-4- bromobutane) are valuable synthetic intermediates.
