Abstract

LLA tune with the sodium salt of the appropriate ditliiol. The cyclic thioketal, 5-wditliianone f Va), n as p1 epared by swonification and decarboxylation of 4-ethoxycarbonyl-5-m- dithianone after first inactivating the ketone group by con\ ersion to a cyclic ketal by reaction with ethylene glycol.
