Abstract

Compounds containing a sulfoxide moiety are useful synthetic intermediates for the construction of various chemically and biologically significant molecules. 1 The discovery by Kahne and co-workers2 of the anomeric glycosyl sulfoxide as a novel glycosyl donor provided a new and powerful method for chemical glycosylation.
