Abstract
Five grams of 4-aminobenzhydrol (prepared by reducing 4-aminobenzophenone with sodium amalgam in alcoholic solution) were dissolved in 150 cc. of washed and dried chloroform and to the solution 4 grams (two atoms) of bromine were added. A precipitate was thrown do: w and soon clotted together to form what appeared under a magnifying glass as a mixture of yellowish crystals and a yellow tarry mass.
