Abstract
Synthesis of substituted 2-phenyl-6-benzothiazolyl isothiocyanates and their intermediate products, especially the possibility of direct nitration of benzothiazole ring, is described. The IR and UV" Spectra of the isothiocyanates were measured and kinetics of their reactions with OH-ions and with NH2 group of glycine were studied. Contrary to 2-phenyl-5-benzothiazolyl, isothiocyanates, for which substituent effects were found to be negligible, in the case of 2- ...
