Abstract

Abstract Co-condensation of five equivalents Me 2 SiCl 2 and one equivalent RR′ SiCl 2 with lithium provides the five-and six-membered rings RR′ Si (Me 2 Si) 4 and RR′ Si (Me 2 Si) 5. This method provides a direct route to the phenyl substitued methylcyclopolysilanes (R, R′ Me, Ph) which can be used for further functionalization of the silicon rings.
