Abstract

Cyclodehydration using the Burgess reagent provided a novel approach toward the synthesis of N-bridged 5, 6-bicylic pyridines including pyrolo-, imidazo-, and triazolopyridines under mild and neutral conditions. The methodology tolerates acid- sensitive functional groups.
