Abstract

Abstract: At ambient temperatures peroxybenzoyl nitrate (PBzN) is in equilibrium with benzoylperoxy radicals and NOz. In the presence of radical scavengers such as NO or I5NOZ, the equilibrium is perturbed and the disappearance of PBzN is determined by the O- NOZ homolysis rate constant (kl). In this manner the rate constant has been evaluated from 291 to 314 K and found to be kl/s-'= 10~'5~ 2* 0~ 60~ e~~ z59* 910~ R~. The rate ...
