Abstract

Poly (p-phenylene vinylenes)(PPVs) are a class of conjugated polymers with applications ranging from light-emitting diodes [1–8] to photovoltaics.[9–12] To overcome the limited solubility of many PPV polymers, films are cast from the soluble precursor polymers; thermal treatment of the films then converts the material into its final conjugated state.
