Summary:(Trialkylsily1) manganese pentacarbonyl reagents react with epoxides and cyclic ethers in a regioselective manner to furnish functionalized alkylmanganese pentacarbonyl complexes. These complexes undergo subsequent sequential insertion with either alkenes or alkynes to afford manganacycles.
