Abstract
Oxidation of organometallic reagents, 1 especially organoborane2 and organosilicon3 compounds, is a methodology of great importance in organic synthesis for the preparation of alcohols. In general, the oxidation of a carbon-metal σ-bond does not provide carbonyl compounds (except from oxidation of vinylmetals).
