Abstract

Although alkyl trifluorovinyl ethers, ROCF= CF,, in which R is a hydrocarbon alkyl group can be prepared by the reaction of an alkali metal alkoxide with tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), this procedure generally fails when an alkali metal perfluoroalkoxide is used.
