Abstract

The acceptor, TCN”, prepared by oxidation of dimalonitrile VI11 or IX, is reversibly ionized by two one-electron reductions at a platinum electrode in butyronitrile with 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate at half-wave potential ElI2 (1) red= 4.145 V and E1/*(2)= 4.449 V vs. an Ag/AgN03 reference electrode.
