Abstract Alkaline hydrolysis if the phenyl acetates CH 3 COOC 6 H 4 X (X= 4-NO 2, 3-NO 2, 3-Cl, H, 4-CH 3, 3-CH 3, and 4-OCH 3) in the presence of hexadecyltris (2-hydroxyethyl) ammonium chloride, bis (2-hydroxyethyl) hexadecyl (methyl) ammonium bromide, and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide has been studied.
