Abstract
(200 ml. per mole of acid), distilling off the ether until the temperature reached 83' and then re- fluxing for two hours. For example, when this ructhod was used, the yield of ~-tiretliyl-:~-ethyl -~~- pentanol was 7096 instead of 53'17,.
