Abstract

Abstract: A new method for introduction of indolylmethyl group to aldehydes or ketones using diethyl (o-isocyanophenylmethyl) phosphonate through Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons condensation, thiolmediated radical cyclization, and the subsequent desulfurization is described.
