Abstract
CeCl3.7H2O-NaI is found to be an effective catalyst for the synthesis of various tetra-substituted pyridine derivatives via Michael addition of β−dicarbonyl compounds to α,β–unsaturated oximes and subsequent ring closure by cyclo-dehydration of these products. ... Keywords: Cerium, Michael addition, unsaturated oximes, pyridines ... Michael reaction is a very important and useful method of carbon-carbon bond formation in organic chemistry. The classical version of this ...
