Abstract: 4-(3-Pyridyl)-4-oxobutanediazohydroxide (10) is a likely product of metabolic a- hydroxylation of the tobacco nitrosamines N'-nitrosonornicotine (2) and 4- (methylnitrosamino)-l-(3-pyridyl)-l-butanone (1).
