Abstract
Many natural products or biomolecules contain α-amino acid or β-amino alcohol units in their structures.[1] Although these units may be obtained from naturally occurring α-amino acids, general methods for the synthesis of other non-natural α-amino acids are highly sought after. Among many reported approaches, the direct synthesis of α-amino acids in air by means of biomimetic methods has been regarded as one of the most challenging tasks. ...
