Abstract
Conclusions We have demonstrated the facile reaction of nitro-and nitrosoalkanes with iodotrimethylsilane, where the reaction is initiated by the formation of a strong bond between silicon and oxygen. The deoxygenation reactions OCCUT due to the excellent reducing power of iodide.
