Method B. To a methanol solution (10 mL) of MeONa (1.08" 01) was added llc (150 mg, 0.54" 01) at 0" C and the mixture was stirred for 1 h at room temperature. Then the reaction mixture was diluted with benzene and washed with water and sodium bicarbonate solution.
