Abstract
The remarkable ability of desoxycholic acid to form well-defined molecular compounds (choleic acids) with a wide variety of organic substances was discovered by Wieland and Sorge, who showed that this bile acid, either in the free state or in the form of glyco-or tauro- desoxycholic acid, combines with such substances as ether, alcohol, various carboxylic acids including the higher fatty acids, certain aromatic hydrocarbons, cholesterol, certain ...
