Abstract

Summary: The intra-and intermolecular condensation of alcohols with bis-sulfone methylenes, Le., dehydrative alkylation, using DEAD and Ph3P proceeds stereospecifically at room temperature under essentially neutral conditions affording good to excellent yields of alkylation1 annulation products.
