Abstract

While numerous 5-phenyl-% substituted hydantoins have been tested for pharmacological activity, very little has been learned concerning the activities of 5-(substituted phenyl)- hydantoins. l It was of interest, therefore, to prepare other substituted-phenyl hydantoins so that their anticonvulsant activities, if any, might be compared with that of the potent 3, 3- diphenylhydantoin or; j-ethyl-3-phenylhydantoiii.
