Abstract

An improved method of preparation of diarylchloronium and diarylbromium ions is described from their corresponding arenediazoniurn ions by decomposition in haloarenes in the presence of trifluoro-(trichloro-) acetic acid or 2, 2, 2-trifluoroethyl alcohol.
