Abstract

Abstract The reaction of tricarbonyl (η 5-cyclohexadienylium) iron tetrafluoroborate 3 with the methyl arylacetate 6, the dimethyl arylmalonate 12, and the di-tert-butyl arylmalonate 14 provides regio-and stereoselectively the tricarbonyliron-complexed 5-arylmethylcyclohexa- 1, 3-dienes 7, 13 and 15.
