Abstract
Dec., 1948 THE DIMER OF METHALLYL CHLORIDE 4069 ... Allylbenzylmalonyl Chloride.-The following is a typical preparation of a dialkylmalonyl chloride. A mixture of 78 g. of allylbenzylmalonic acid and 150 ml. of thionyl chloride was gently refluxed for four hours. The chloride was then distilled to give 56.3 g. of the acid chloride.
