Abstract

A study of the cycloaddition behavior of several arylsulfonyl substituted alkynes with 2- diazopropane has been carried out. These activated acetylenes react to give 3H-pyrazoles which extrude nitrogen on photolysis to produce cyclopropenes in high yield.
