Abstract
CH3- 20 15 12 53 0. 2 0. 9-0. 3 0. 8 (CH3) KH- 11 5 16 68 0.5 0.9 0.2 1.6 CaH dCH 8hC-< 2< 2 24 76 0.7> 1.5> 2.2 dimethylpentanoic acid (mp 43-44) 4 and 2 gave 4-oxo-2, 2- dimethylpentanoic acid (mp 72-74'). Further proliferation of isomers occurs if irradiation is continued after the dione is consumed.
