Abstract
Using deuterium labeling, the basic fragmentation modes incurred upon electron bombardment of pentan-1-01 and pentan-2-01 trimethylsilyl ethers were elucidated. The mass spectra of these simple trimethylsilyl ethers exhibit peaks which appear in the spectra of practically all trimethylsilyl ether derivatives; the elucidation of the nature of these fragment ions provides a foundation for structural deductions of more complicated ...
