Abstract

The reaction of the chloromagnesium salt of benzophenone imine with tosyl azide gives a mixture of diphenyldiazomethane and of N-tosyl benzophenone imine. Similarly, diazofluorene was formed from the chloromagnesium salt of fluorenone imine and tosyl azide.
