Abstract

During an ongoing project which has seen the synthesis of various naturally occurring chiral fatty acids and related compounds, including lactobacillic acid (Coxon et al., 1999 and Coxon et al., 2003), the enantiomer of grenadamide (Al-Dulayymi et al., 2004), cascarillic acid (Roberts et al., 2004), and single enantiomers of α-mycolic acids (Al-Dulayymi et al., 2000), a synthesis of the related methyl-branched tuberculostearic acid and its enantiomer has now been ...
