Abstract

The reaction of enamino ketone 1, derived from acetylacetone, with benzoyl isocyanate (4) gave the isomeric benzoylcarbamoyl derivatives 6 and 9, and/or 2-pyridone 7, depending upon the reaction conditions. Similarly, enamino ketone 2, derived from benzoylacetone, reacted with 4 to afford the isomeric benzoylcarbamoyl compounds 12, 13, and/or 2-pyrone 14.
