Abstract
Abstract The para fluorine in 1-bromo-1-(pentafluorophenyl) ethene (3) is replaced exclusively by sodium methoxide to give 1-bromo-1-(4-methoxy-2, 3, 5, 6-tetrafluorophenyl)- ethene (4) and 2, 3, 5, 6-tetrafluoro-4-methoxyphenylethyne (5). Lithiation of (3) with n- butyllithium and reaction with hexafluorobenzene gave 1, 1-bis-(pentafluorophenyl) ethene (7), Ar 3*(8), Ar4*(9), Ar5*(10), and Ar6*(11).(* For an explanation of these notations see ...
