Abstract
Sir: A highly stereospecific transformation of allylic alcohols into ethylenic derivatives has previously been described, as has the application of this reaction to the stereospecific synthesis of CIS Cecropia juvenile hormone.'The process is convenient and depending on the choice of reagent allows the synthesis of either olefinic isomer in good yields with high stereospecificity.
