Abstract

The sulfonylurea herbicides are very potent inhibitors of acetolactate synthase (ALS). These compounds have been reported as “extraneous inhibitors” due to the fact that their inhibition site corresponds to neither the catalytic site nor the regulatory sites of the enzyme.
