Abstract
convenient compounds to examine in order to make certain that the positions of the substituents in the methyl aryl sulfides (No. 1-7 in Table I) were not changed from those in the parent halides. Each of the sulfones prepared in the present work showed no mixed melting point depression with the mate-rials which were syntheaized by unambiguous methods. l1
