Abstract: The 1, 2, 5-thiadiazole 1-oxide system was synthesized via cyclocondensation of diethyl oxalimidate or dimethyl thiooxalimidate with thionyl chloride. The alkoxy and alkylthio group in these products are replaced by amines, eg, pyrrolidine, which produced 3-ethoxy-4- (1-pyrrolidiny1)-1, 2, 5-thiadiazole I-oxide from the diethoxy analogue at room temperature.
