Abstract
The considerable theoretical and experimental interest1r2 in tetracyclo [5.1. 1.03~ 8.05~ 8] n~ nane or fenestrane (1) has resulted recently in preparation and close study of the related hydrocarbon tricyclo [4.2. 0.01~ 4] octane (2) by Wiberg and his~ o-workers.~ In addition, we have briefly described synthesis of two derivatives of this ring system, the epimeric esters 3 and 4.4 We now provide details of the preparation of these esters and also report ...
