Abstract

Abstract The energetic plasticizer N-methyl-N-(2-nitroxyethyl) nitramine (2) and its precursor N-methyl-N-(2-nitroxyethyl) ammonium nitrate (1) were synthesized by nitration of 2- (methylamino) ethanol and characterized by X-ray crystallography, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy (1 H, 13 C, 14 N), vibrational spectroscopy (IR and Raman), mass spectrometry and differential thermal analysis.
