Abstract

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION p-Phenylenediamine readily reacts with dimethylformamide dimethylacetal, DMFDMA, to give N. N'-p-phenylenediformamidine 1, which agree with the literature in this data [11]. Formamidine, 1 could also be obtained by Vilsmeier reaction [12, 13]. Synthesis of p-phenylenediformamidine 1 using microwave irradiation has not been described before.
